Liverpool moved closer to 4th-placed Manchester United in the Premier League after defeating Fulham at Anfield as the Reds continue their chase of the Champions League spot for next season.

Liverpool are currently in 5th place with 59 points in 34 matches. While Manchester United are in 4th place on the Premier League table with 63 points in 32 matches.

Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot after Issa Diop’s challenge on Darwin Nunez. Salah’s goal was his 17th goal in the Premier League.

How Liverpool Defeated Fulham in the Premier League

Fulham got their chance in the 4th minute of the match, but they were unable to convert the chance. A few minutes later, Mohamed Salah’s curve shot beat Leno, but it was not able to go into the net.

Fulham never seem to relent on finding the equalizer, and they came close after Willian played a through ball to Vinicius, who comfortably hit the ball, but his attempt was stopped by Alisson.

In the 81st minute, Jordan Henderson tried a shot from outside the box, but it went wide, and Fulham goalkeeper Leno’s stretching looked unnecessary.

Liverpool decided to sit back in the remaining time of the second half and play with all their strength to secure all three points.
