Reactions have continued to trail Mohamed Salah’s x-rated reaction to his manager Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United in the Premier League.

The Egyptian forward clashed with the German tactician when he was about to be subbed on in the game. In viral footage that has generated much fuss on social media, the pair descended into a bitter verbal exchange.

Liverpool legend and Premier League pundit Graeme Souness has waded into the infamous fallout with his opinion.

Speaking on William Hill’s Three Up Front podcast, the football legend described Mo Salah as the most selfish player he has ever seen.

According to him, Salah’s X-rated blast was inextricably linked to the decision of Jurgen Klopp to drop him on the bench during the West Ham match before bringing him on with 10 minutes left to play.

The Reds’ legend also added Salah has a large opinion of himself and could leave the club in the summer following the fallout.

”I believe Mohamed Salah is off and leaving Liverpool. He has been fabulous for Liverpool, but if he leaves to the Saudi Pro League then he’ll be the biggest star in that part of the world,’ Souness told Simon Jordan and Troy Deeney on the podcast

“He no doubt has an exceptionally large opinion of himself, and he’ll have been angry at not starting the game against West Ham last week.

”I think the situation with Jurgen Klopp was a reaction to only being brought on with 10 minutes to go – it was more Salah than it was Klopp in that confrontation.

”Salah is the most selfish player I have ever witnessed. Even prior to that game, whenever Klopp takes him off, he is never happy about it.”

Graeme Souness’ opinion is not a departure from takes by other English football pundits on Salah’s fallout with Klopp. However, Jamie Carragher seems to differ, saying the Egyptian deserves enough game time to return to elite-level performance. Nevertheless, Carragher believes Mo Salah’s reaction was unprofessional.

“I think he (Salah) is frustrated with the lack of game time but his reaction was out of the bounds of professionalism and unnecessary,” Carragher said.

Salah has 14 months left on his Liverpool contract. Despite Graeme Souness’ claims that the 31-year-old could leave in the summer, Futballnews understands Liverpool chiefs consider Salah key to the team and are hoping to have him run out the last lap of his contract next season.
