Liverpool Football Club is a professional football club headquartered in Liverpool, England, that competes in the Premier League, English football’s highest division.

Following a conflict between the Everton committee and John Houlding, the club president and landowner at Anfield, Liverpool F.C. was formed. Everton moved to Goodison Park in 1892 after eight years in the stadium, and Houlding created Liverpool F.C. to play at Anfield.
The club was originally known as “Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd” (Everton Athletic for short), but in March 1892, it changed its name to Liverpool F.C. and received official registration three months later, when The Football Association refused to recognize the team as Everton.

The Reds’ 30th victory of the season came against Brighton & Hove Albion on July 8, and they did so in just 34 Premier League games.
The best start of all time
Liverpool’s 61 points from their first 21 games were the most ever amassed by a team in any of Europe’s top five divisions at that point.
They went on to win their next six games, giving them a total of 79 points from their first 27 games before losing against Watford.
The most home victories in a season
Liverpool joined Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City in winning 18 home matches in a Premier League season with their 5-3 victory over Chelsea.
The most wins in a season
Liverpool equaled Man City’s 32 victories in 2017/18 and 2018/19 with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in their final encounter.
What will Liverpool be able to do this season?
Liverpool has had a tough season as they pursue a potential quadruple, but no matter what they accomplish, they won’t be able to break one record.
The Reds will play every potential game if they advance past Villarreal in the Champions League, as they have already reached the FA Cup and Carabao Cup finals, in addition to the regular 38 Premier League fixtures. By the end of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side will have played a total of 63 games.
Liverpool are still in contention for a trophy quadruple moving into the final week of April and are certain to go longer than any other team in English history.
The Reds have already won the League Cup and are in the FA Cup final, the Champions League semi-finals, and are battling it out with Man City for the Premier League crown.
City regained their one-point lead over Brighton with a 3-0 win on Wednesday night, and both championship rivals now have six games remaining.
