Liverpool are said to be looking to recover from their Isco rejection by Real Madrid, by signing another midfield superstar. It is believed that Liverpool have eyes now set on Fabian Ruiz. Ruiz, who currently plays for Napoli, is said to be a target as Klopp believes he will make a good addition to their midfield line.
With the Reds squad currently undefeated, there was no need to dip into the market for any add on’s until recent injuries which started over December came on the horizon. Klopp’s team for the most part is pretty settled but the Reds Boss wouldn’t mind securing an attacking midfielder and he believes Ruiz will be the perfect fit for the job.
Jurgen Klopp’s boys are currently sitting 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League. The Reds have won 23 Premier League games and drew one so far, this season. The title will surely end with the Reds being named champions of England for the first time since 1990.
An initial £47 million bid for Isco is said to have been lodged. Real Madrid killed the Reds hopes by rejecting the offer promptly. It is believed Real Madrid is not ready to give up the youngster so easily and certainly not for the price Liverpool is offering. With Klopp, searching for someone to fill in the position of attacking midfield, he is hoping to score big with Ruiz before the end of the January transfer window.
Liverpool have lacked a well recognizable midfield attacker since the departure of Philippe Coutinho. This now leads to Andy Robertson and Trent Alexnder-Arnold at full backs providing the bulk of the team’s creativity.
With a £47.3m deal gone sour for Isco, though reports out of Spain claim Madrid wants £59.1m for the player, Liverpool are not ready to cough up such amount and have decided to look on to other alternatives like Ruiz.
Liverpool, are said to be readying a major approach to lure the Spaniard to Anfield. The deal is reportedly too good for the Spanish international to pass on and could see him at Anfield in the coming days.
Ruiz’s form has been top notch since a move from Real Betis in 2018. This has lead to a number of Clubs eyeing the footballer with top clubs, such as, Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and the Reds all linked to the Spanish international within recent months.
Though liverpool understand it may cost even more than Isco to prise away the Spaniard, Liverpool are ready to take their chances. The Reds believe luring him away from Napoli would be far easier given the recent tensions between Napoli’s players and club chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis.
Ruiz who is very creative in the midfield can play on the left or through the centre of midfield. Liverpool were drawn to Ruiz due to his eye for a pass and creativity which is said to be appealing to Klopp. Klopp is hoping to secure Ruiz in the January transfer window but will settle for the summer market if things don’t go according to plan.
