Fc Barcelona and Argentina‘s skipper, Lionel Messi has sent a message of goodwill and strength to the people affected by the coronavirus and to the rest of the world as well. The six-times Ballon d’Or winner has called for people to stay at home and obey the advice of authorities in a bid to control the outbreak.

Lionel Messi sent out the message to the rest of the world after the death toll from the outbreak increased to over 5,000 on Saturday which triggered fear in the minds of people. The Barcelona star advised that people keep calm and adhere to every instruction given by authorities in order the hastily control the outbreak. Messi revealed that he is currently at home in Argentina utilizing the suspension placed on all sports games in Europe to spend a nice time with his wife and kids.

He posted a picture of himself and two kids on Instagram with a caption that carried the message for the world.

In his words, the football star hopes the present situation in the world can be easily turned around sooner than expected. Meanwhile, Messi stated that while this unfortunate incident seems to be one of the most unpleasant moments on earth, it is also a time to be responsible and stay at home with family. He said: “It is the time to be responsible and stay at home. It is also a perfect opportunity to enjoy family time, something that’s not always possible.”

“Health must always come first, It is an exceptional time and we must follow the instructions of health organizations and public authorities. Only by doing this can we effectively combat it.”

“These are complicated days for everyone,” Messi said. “We are worried about what is happening and we want to help by putting ourselves in the place of those who are having the worst of it, either because it has directly affected them or their family and friends, or because they are working on the front line to combat it in hospitals and health centers. I want to send a lot of strength to all of them.”
