Reports have it that Saudi Arabian side Al-Hillal are reportedly set to announce the signing of Lionel Messi on Tuesday, June 6.

The announcement will come after PSG already confirmed his exit from the Ligue 1 club.

Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that Messi will leave the Ligue 1 winners at the end of the season, with Saturday afternoon’s match against Clermont Foot marking his final outing at the Parc des Princes.

Lionel Messi, 35, had been linked with a huge return to Barcelona, but a source close to Al-Hillal says that a deal with the Argentine will be confirmed on Tuesday.

Spanish news outlet, SPORT, also states that Al-Hilal are expecting a ‘definitive yes’ on June 6 and that they have ‘prepared all of the necessary paperwork’ to announce his signing on the said day.

The Reports also confirmed that Al-Hilal are offering Messi €400million (£345m) per season to play for the club, which is £170m more than what Cristiano Ronaldo is currently earning at his new club Al Nassr.

The Saudi Arabian side Al-Hillal are very confident about signing the 35-year-old World Cup winner to their club.

Lionel Messi on the other hand is set to be interested in this move as Al-Hillal are offering him €400m (£345m) per season to play for their club.

Messi, is also a fan of Saudi Arabia after he became their travel ambassador in May 2022 (earning £25m-a-year).

Should Messi move to Saudi Arabia, it would see another face-up with long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo who currently plays in the league.

The duo have spent majority of their career locked in a fierce rivalry, with fans always keen on which of them can score the most goals, win the most trophies, break the most records across the course of their careers.

Now Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be in direct competition and the last time they played in the same league was when Messi was at Barcelona and Ronaldo was at Madrid.

It will therefore be a dream come true for fans as they get to watch these greatest of all time play together once more against each other.

Recall we talked about Antonela Roccuzzo – who married the Argentine superstar footballer in 2017 and shares three children with him – not wanting to move to Saudi Arabia.

The model might prove a big obstacle to her husband’s transfer to the Saudi club as she doesn’t want to stay in the country.

Antonela is reportedly not interested in moving the couple’s three young sons – Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 5 – to the Middle East.

Reports have it that Antonela revealed that she ‘can’t imagine’ family life there.

Lionel Messi and Antonela were childhood sweethearts and they tied the knot 6 years ago and have been together since.

Antonela may be a major issue in the transfer as any concerns held by her are therefore likely to hold considerable sway over any transfer decisions made by Messi, who at age 35 is entering the twilight of his career.

Reports from sources close to the club insists that Al-Hillal are adamant that the Argentinian will sign for the Saudi Arabian club on Tuesday, June 6.

Well, what can we say? Time will tell if Messi would end up in Saudi Arabia.
