Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has reportedly used Leeds United Stadium at Elland Road as collateral security to secure a £26 million bank loan in a bid to purchase Italian club Sampdoria.

It was reported that the loan would be paid back in two years, and it was also subject to interest of six or nine percent per year.

However, the loan may be extended to ten years, raising the possibility of Elland Road becoming Radrizzani’s venture at Sampdoria.

It also remains unclear whether the proposed loan has advanced beyond the head-time agreement.

He is seeking to finalize the agreement with the Italian football club.

This is likely to restrain the relationship between Radrizzani and the 49ers since Leeds United are no longer a big club.

    Radrizzani

Radrizzani currently holds the majority of the stake in Leeds United, and the 49ers will hold the minority of it.

Interestingly, the minority owner doesn’t like the idea of Radrizzani using Elland Stadium as collateral.

The financial arm of the NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers, is looking forward to buying the majority of the club’s control from Radrizzani in January 2024.

However, the San Francisco 49ers may decide to change their minds if Leeds United do not get promoted to the Premier League next season.

How much did Andrea Radrizzani buy Leeds for?

The wealthy businessman bought Leeds United for £45 million in 2017. His purchase was an excellent one, and the fans were happy for it.

In 2023, the owner invested in the club with the hope that they were going to be a top club in the Premier League, but the relegation confirmation had put down the club’s value.

He failed to attend the last match against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. He wasn’t at the stand to hear that the fans want him out of the club.

The fans felt the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa in February 2022 was the major reason why they were relegated to the Championship.
