UK Judge, Judge Hess, has lashed out at Kyle Walker’s baby mama, Lauryn Goodman, for her unreasonable financial demands on the Manchester City footballer.
Lauryn Goodman had dragged Kyle Walker to court to claim a reported £177,000 annual salary for the upkeep of his two children, a boy, Kairo, 4, and a girl (name undisclosed).
Recall while still married to his childhood sweetheart, Annie Kilner, Walker sparked a paternity row when Goodman revealed he was the owner of her second child.
Meanwhile, in 2020, Kyle Walker had impregnated Goodman and welcomed Kairo following his secret relationship with the model. Some reports claimed he bought the renowned model and influencer a luxurious property worth £2.4m.
Despite his best efforts to keep the relationship secret, it later emerged into the public glare with Goodman subsequently revealing he ( Kyle Walker) is the father of Kairo.
With his infidelity laid bare, his marriage with Annie Kilner, 30, was at risk. While the pair battle to keep the scandal under wraps, Lauryn Goodman was constantly a thorn in the family’s flesh. She openly admitted Walker is the father of her child.
Walker would later admit tearfully to being manipulated psychologically by Lauryn Goodman in the whole secret relationship saga while apologizing to his wife for undeservedly going through all the pains due to his mistakes.
After initial tensions between the couple, they finally found a middle ground to thrash out their differences and raise a family together.
However, in 2023, another bombshell wrecked Walker’s union with Killner again. He fathered another child from Goodman.
To make matters worse, Goodman reportedly texted Kilner, telling her that her husband ( Kyle Walker) is the father of her second child, a girl (name undisclosed), adding to Kairo.
Kilner could not hold her peace anymore. She reportedly booted Walker out of the family. The footballer had to live in a £20,000-a-week rented property away from his family to pursue her career with Manchester City in the Premier League.
However, when Annie was about to give birth to Walker’s fourth child, Rezon, in 2024 sources close to the family revealed the 31-year-old has welcomed back the footballer to their £3.5m home. While they were living together, it was also confirmed they had yet to patch their differences and that the relationship was still strained.
While the footballer has been blamed for an apparent lack of self-control that has cost the happiness of his family, a different angle to the narrative has emerged due to the outcome of recent court case proceedings by Lauryn Goodman.
Lauryn Goodman and Kyle Walker’s legal tussle on maintenance funds
Apart from the superficial relationship between Kyle Walker and Lauryn Goodman, a lot was going on in the background between the two lovers.
The £2.4m house that Kyle Walker bought for Lauryn Goodman in 2020 was reportedly a result of the lady’s strong-arm approach on the footballer, Judge Hess heard in the London Financial Remedies Court.
Also, she reportedly wanted Kyle Walker to pay her a whooping £177,000 as salary for the maintenance of herself and Walker’s two children.
Walker reportedly refuted the proposal by her, hence her decision to file legal proceedings against the footballer.
Ruling on the case, Judge Hest slammed Goodman for being ”difficult, unreasonable and demanding […],” adding that the legal proceedings by her wasn’t necessary in the first place.
“My impression is that the mother is often difficult, unreasonable, and demanding […]”, Jude Hest said.
“…she used Kyle as an open-ended cheque book and repeatedly threatened him to get what she wanted.
“These proceedings were never necessary.
‘Kyle’s offer should have been accepted months ago and would therefore have eliminated the need for added stress to all involved.”
How much was Kyle Walker offering Lauryn Goodman for maintenance?
While insider reports that Goodman wanted as much as £365,000 annual salary, the court learned that she wanted £177,000 each year and £14,750 weekly. Walker, on the other hand, offered to pay £12,500 each week and £150,000 each year.
According to Judge Hess, for a footballer who is earning £160,000, Walker’s offer for Goodman was decent and generous, hence Goodman should have settled for the offer and not tried to extort the footballer.
The court ruling has been seen as a win for Kyle Walker, who has struggled to stay off Goodman’s hook since the baby mama saga.
