    The player who is just 15 years old played as Barcelona beat Real Betis to extend their lead in the La Liga to 11 points.

    Yamal who is an academy product and will turn 16 in July, replaced Gavi in the 84th minute as the league leaders already had the match in locks.

    During the game, Christensen scored the first goal for Barcelona and his first goal for the club after he headed in Raphinha’s in-swinging cross from six yards out.

    Edgar Gonzalez, who was brought in as a substitute for Real Betis, was sent off in the 33rd minute after collecting two yellow cards in quick succession.

    Attacking powerhouse Robert Lewandowski also converted Jules Kounde’s cross three minutes later to double the hosts’ lead.

    Just before half-time, former Leeds United star Raphinha added a third following a lengthy VAR check on the offside mark.

    Ansu Fati’s cross was miscalculated and it turned out to be an own goal in the 82nd minute to ensure the hosts take all three points.

    He is however yet to sign his professional contract with Barcelona but he has shown prospects that impressed the Catalan coach.
