Arsenal enjoyed a 3-0 victory away to Fulham, as they kicked-off the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette scored the first goal of the season after finishing off a rebound from close range in the 8th-minute.

Speaking to BBC after the game, the Frenchman said: “It was the best way to start the season,”

“[Manager Mikel Arteta] wants us to be perfect. We have a lot of big ambitions. I want to help the team to be on top and I know it is my job.”

Lacazette also squashed media reports claiming he was seeking a move away from the Emirates this summer during the close-season.

“I am really happy at Arsenal,” Lacazette said.

“It is only the press and other people that say I am not. I want to play and win titles. We want to be aggressive with and without the ball and improve every aspect of our game.”

    Stellar debut for Willian

Ex-Chelsea winger Willian, who moved to the Emirates this summer, started off his arsenal account with a flyer.

In a man of the match performance, Willian assisted all three goals, as arsenal cruised past newly-promoted Fulham.

He was directly involved in the first goal of 2020/21 Premier League season, when he assisted the opener with his shot rebounding into the path of Alexandre Lacazette, to smash home.

He also had the chance to add a second on 27 minutes when his well-struck free-kick crashed into the frame of the post.

In the second half, Arsenal doubled their lead, and Willian was at the center of it again. He whipped in a corner kick which found the head of the newly signed Lile defender, Gabriel, who guided the ball home in 49 minutes.

Barely seven minutes after, Willian, once again was the creator, as his crossfield pass was calmly controlled by Aubameyang, before the Gabonese striker moved into the box and drove the ball into the back of the net.

The FA Cup winners have now started the new season strongly and Mikel Arteta would hope to build on this momentum going forward.
