Barcelona coach, Quique Setien has said that the fight for the La Liga title will go down the wire till the final day.
Setien’s men are behind Real Madrid in the race for the title they have been winning back to back since 2012, courtesy of head-to-head disadvantage after playing a goalless draw with Sevilla.
Barca also has big games o their hands with their next two fixture being tricky ones. The Blaugrana will visit Celta Vigo at the weekend and later host Atletico Madrid, that is also looking to cement its Champions League place on the log,
Real Madrid, on the other hand, will travel the home ground of Barca’s city rivals, Espanyol and later host in-form Getafe. The next two ties could still play a big factor in where the title will be going at the end of the season.
Setien, who also noted that a lot of things can still happen in the division, pointed out that the remaining five games all pose a threat to their title ambition said the next two games won’t be just tricky, but the remaining games will be like finals for his lads.
“They are two difficult games, but they can all be. I think this is going to come down to the final matchday.”
“There are still a lot of things that can happen in this league, such as arriving at the last match level and something unexpected happening. We’ll see.”
Real Madrid are in good form – Quique Setien
The Barca boss also acknowledged that the Galacticos are in good form after winning their last four matches since their return from the coronavirus-enforced break.
Although he tagged them as favourites as things stand, the former Real Betis manager still believes that anything can still happen, making him remain hopeful of winning the La Liga title at the expense of the Whites.
His counterpart, Zinedine Zidane, has been saying that the side is interested in winning the title that has eluded them since 2012, and they are ready to do all it takes to clinch it.
Setien is hoping that Real Madrid makes mistakes, and the title remains at the Camp Nou.
“It is difficult for both of us to win everything. They are in a good moment in many things, so are we. I hope they are wrong, and we catch them.”
