Kylian Mbappe’s shirt number at Real Madrid has been revealed after he finally completed his move to Real Madrid.
Given the class of the striker, Mbappe was expected to take up the two iconic shirt numbers at Real Madrid – Jersey No.10 and No.9.
Another iconic shirt no., shirt no.7, has been taken up by Brazil international Vinicius Jr. So, Mbappe was expected to take up any of the two frontline shirt numbers.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the French footballer has been handed Jersey number 9 at the moment. Originally, the plan was to have the French footballing sensation don the more iconic number 10 but the Croatian midfield veteran is still in custody of the shirt number.
Modric is set to extend his contract with Real Madrid for another season. And it is understood the club holds the legendary Madridista in high esteem. So, courtesy demands he is allowed to continue with the shirt number until his departure.
Mbappe will be expected to take up the no.10 shirt when Luka Modric leaves. For now, he has been handed Jersey number 9.
