The “European Edition” of the Globe Soccer Awards was held on May 28, 2024, with the brilliance of several footballing stars being recognized.
Basically, this award is a special edition of the Globe Soccer Awards dedicated to European football.
Several awards were handed to many footballing names, who have delineated class in the past, presently, and those who appear to be bright prospects for the future.
Awards ranging from the Best Club of the Year, Best Coach of the Year, Breakthrough of the Year, and Best Player of the Year were presented to different stakeholders on the day.
Kylian Mbappe Wins Best Player of the Year award At The Globe Soccer Awards European Edition
Mbappe was presented with the Best Player of the Year award, and he appeared delighted to be recognized for his astonishing showing in the past 12 months.
After receiving the prize, Mbappe appreciated his former teammates at Paris Saint Germain, whilst also thanking the fans for the role they played in it.
In his acceptance speech, Kylian Mbappe also called PSG “the best team in France” and he also sent his gratitude to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Xabi Alonso was also named the Best Coach of the Year, following an historic season with Bayer Leverkusen.
Alonso guided the German side to the Bundesliga and DFB-POKAL title, going unbeaten throughout the domestic campaign.
Xabi Alonso was also on course for a treble, but his side lost the Europa League crown to Atalanta after they were defeated 3-0 in the final.
Moreover, Manchester City were presented with the Best Men’s Club of the Year award after winning their fourth Premier League title in a row.
For the Women, Barcelona received the award, after winning the Spanish La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and Copa de la Reina.
Harry Kane’s record-breaking season with Bayern Munich was also recognized, with the English forward handed the Top Scorer of the Year award.
Kane scored 44 goals in 45 appearances for Bayern Munich across all competitions, following his €95 million move from Tottenham Hotspur on August 12, 2023.
Serie A side Atalanta were presented with the Breakthrough of the Year award after their triumphant outing in the UEFA Europa League.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, 16, was honored as the standout emerging player of the Year, beating Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham to the award.

Note: As a result of winning the Best European Player of the Year award, Kylian Mbappe automatically qualifies as a finalist for the annual Dubai Globe Soccer Awards to be held in December 2024.
Additionally, Manchester City have also automatically qualified as a finalist for the annual Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, having won the Best Men’s Club of the Year award.
