It has always been the childhood dream of Kylian Mbappe to play for Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid. He has never hidden his desire to wear the white jersey of the Spanish giants but his current club, Paris Saint Germain would not allow him to go so easily.
Over the years, it was just a show of love using words between Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe. The club never followed that up with an actual bid until this week.
From the blues, Real Madrid decided to make their attention known to PSG that they love to have Kylian Mbappe as much as the 22-year-old football star wants to play for the Spanish club.
Hence, Real Madrid have decided to officially offer PSG a whopping €160 million for the services of Kylian Mbappe who joined the French club for a whopping €145 million on July 1, 2018, from Monaco.
In the last ten years, PSG are mere spenders in the transfer market. Most of the club’s former superstars left PSG when their contract with the club expired. Hence, they have not been making so much money from the sales of players.
Therefore, if PSG don’t have a second thought about the €160 million bid from Real Madrid, it would mark the first time in the club’s 50 years history that the club made over 50 million in the sale of a player.
But reports in France are claiming that PSG are not considering the financial gain in the deal as they are still believing that they can convince Kylian Mbappe to stay at the club.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano claimed on Tuesday night, August 24, 2021, that PSG have not given their green light to the bid yet.
Confirmed. Real Madrid have made a formal bid for €160m to sign Kylian Mbappé immediatly. NO green light from Paris Saint-Germain yet. ⚪️🇫🇷 #Mbappé #RealMadrid

Even though Kylian Mbappe has rejected three attempts made by PSG for his contract to be renewed, the coach of PSG Mauricio Pochettino said earlier this season that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner would stay at the club.
The coach said: “Kylian, I see him being very well. He’s working hard to be ready this season. And I see him staying with us this season.
“We also know that during these periods, a lot of things are said. Some things happen, others don’t. I see Kylian working well, he’s got his head in tomorrow’s game. He is focused.”
Why PSG should sell Kylian Mbappe now
Since Paris Saint Germain signed Lionel Messi after he failed to get a new contract at FC Barcelona due to financial constraints, the world of football has been clamoring to see an attack line comprising of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe.
But if PSG buy to that idea and decides to keep Mbappe at the club for this season when he has not renewed his contract with them, it might be a bad business move for the French club.
Recall that the France international has just a season left on his contract with PSG which means that at the end of the 2021-2022 season the Frenchman would be out of contract with the club and can decide to walk away for free.
Once that happens, Kylian Mbappe would gladly join Real Madrid for free which would be a huge loss to PSG.
Once that happens, it would remind the football world about the relationship between Messi and Barcelona. Recall that Messi wanted to leave the club at the end of the 2019-2020 season but the club refused to allow him to go with just a season left on his contract with the Spanish club.
Barcelona thought they could offer Messi a new contract before June 30, 2021, but the financial complications at the club became so bad that the club could not get him to stay. At the end of the day, he moved to PSG for free.
