Paris Saint Germain are still trying to do all they can to ensure that the club’s talisman, Kylian Mbappe remains at the club for another two seasons. The latest reports claimed that the French Ligue 1 giants are ready to pay the Frenchman as much as £150m signing-on fees if he agrees to renew his contract before the coming transfer window.

Kylian Mbappe has less than four months on his current contract with PSG which means that the Frenchman is free to join another club from July 1 this year.

From childhood, Mbappe has always dreamt of playing at Real Madrid. All his football idols like Ronaldo De Lima, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zinedine Zidane played for the Spanish giants.

Fortunately for him, Real Madrid are interested in signing him. Recall that last summer, the Spanish giants made over three attempts to sign Mbappe but PSG turned down the offer.

Unofficial reports claimed that Mbappe has agreed on a pre-contract deal with Real Madrid but the report has not been confirmed at the time of publishing this report.

Despite the speculation that Mbappe had agreed on a pre-contract deal with Real Madrid, PSG are still pushing to renew his stay in France before June 30, 2022.

Recently, there was a report that PSG went as far as offering Kylian Mbappe a blank cheque just to encourage him to agree on a new deal but he reportedly turned down the offer.

Also, it was reported that PSG were willing to make him the captain of the club ahead of other senior players including Lionel Messi and Neymar. But yet, that would not tempt him to sign a new deal.

Initially, reports claimed that PSG offered Kylian Mbappe a £125 million signing-on fee but the offer did not end up producing the needed result. Hence, PSG had to jack up the fee to £150 million.

The club has gone as far as including Kylian Mbappe’s parents, Fayza Lamari (mother), and Wilfried Mbappé (father) in the deal. PSG reportedly plan to pay Mbappe’s parents £42 million as a commission if the 23-year-old French striker manage to extend his contract with PSG.

Mbappe’s parents came into the picture because his father, Wilfried, has been his agent from his amateur days to date. Wilfried and his wife also serve as Mbappe’s advisors. It is believed that they have so much influence on the football star and could help PSG tie him down for at least another two seasons.

But reports claimed that no matter the push from Mbappe’s parents, the 23-year-old striker who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France has the final say over his football career.

Why is PSG so desperate to extend the contract of Kylian Mbappe?

Kylian Mbappe has been one of the best players at PSG since he joined the club on August 31, 2017, on loan from Monaco before he signed a permanent deal with the club on July 1, 2018, for €145 million.

Reports claimed that Mbappe is currently earning around £400,00 per week at PSG and the French club is willing to double his salary if he renews his contract.

PSG are so desperate to renew his contract which will expire on June 30, 2022, because there is no other player at the club who is as consistent as the French striker, not even Neymar or Lionel Messi (based on present form).

Since 2017, Kylian Mbappe has been able to score 160 goals and provided 81 assists in 209 appearances for the French club. So far this season, Mbappe has scored 28 goals and provided 20 assists in 38 games in all competitions. His current transfer market value is €160 million.
