    Kylian Mbappe netted his 300th career goal on November 18, 2023, as France pummeled Gibraltar at the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice, France.

    Mbappe, who is just aged 24 could potentially become the highest goalscorer in football history if he continues at this rate for over a decade.

    His supposed idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, is presently the greatest player in football history, with 859 goals in 1189 appearances for club and country.

    It is also worth noting that neither Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi, the second-highest goalscorer in football history, managed to score 300 career goals before clocking 25.

    Kylian Mbappe has continued to show his outstanding qualities in attack since he broke into the consciousness of football enthusiasts.

    He has been magnificent since he got his big break, playing for French club AS Monaco before joining Paris Saint Germain.

    Mbappe has been courted by many of the big clubs in Europe, including; Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United.

    The Frenchman joined Paris Saint Germain initially on loan on August 31, 2017, before completing a permanent switch to the club on July 1, 2018, for a fee of €180 million.

    Kylian Mbappe is also just 10 goals shy of equalling France’s all-time goals record, as he has currently scored 46 international goals, with Olivier Giroud, who is topping the chart scoring 56.

    Speaking on reaching that outstanding landmark, Mbappe expressed his desire to continue delivering for club and country.

    Kylian Mbappe has scored 254 club career goals and as aforementioned, internationally, he has scored 46 goals.

    He bagged a hat-trick for France as they thumped Gibraltar 14-0, scoring his first via a penalty in the 30th minute, before also adding to his tally in the 74th and 82nd minute.

    France had booked their place in the 2024 European Championships held in Germany before the game, and they sit top of Group B with 21 points from 7 matches.

    France return to action on Tuesday, November 21, for their final Euro Championships qualification encounter against Greece.

    They crashed out in the Round of 16 of the 2020 European Championships, losing 4-5 on penalties, after playing out a 3-3 draw in regulation time.

    Didier Deschamps will be hoping that his side can win the tournament for the first time in 24 years, having last won the tournament in 2000.

    They have won the European Championships twice in the past, winning it in 1984 on home soil and as earlier mentioned in 2000, when the tournament was hosted by the Netherlands and Belgium.
