Kylian Mbappe said he thought it would be hard to associate with his teammate Lionel Messi after the star player joined Paris Saint Germain last summer. Lionel Messi joined PSG after Barcelona failed to renew his contract at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
According to Mbappe, Messi does not post anything about his achievements on social media and does not remind anybody of the kind of player he is.
Even when he is having dinner with his teammates, he doesn’t refer to himself as the best and doesn’t talk about being the only player with the highest Ballon d’Or.
He sometimes stays at home with his family and hardly ever parties. Many videos show how much the player values his family and friends.
When he turned 35-year-old recently, his teammates came to his house to celebrate with him, and he was offered cake.
In a recent interview, Mbappe described Messi as a good person “and it is nice to have him around”, the French star said. He has a lot of friends at PSG and settled in easily immediately after he joined.
Before leaving Barcelona, Messi’s relationship with Sergio Ramos was a sour one, and when both of them got to PSG, they became good friends, which shows Messi does not hold grudges.
He has built good relationships with different players, which include Luis Suarez, Jodi Alba, and Cesc Fabregas. Messi’s nice behavior has also made him one of the most loved players in the world.
Mbappe said one of the reasons he failed to leave PSG for Real Madrid was because of Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward once told him to stay in the box against Leipzig and that when he receives a pass, he would pass to the Frenchman to score.
Kylian Mbappe revealed that Messi advised him to be strong because he would always face challenges when he sees them. Messi gave an example of when Argentina failed to win an international trophy and was criticized heavily for it.
The criticism was too much and he had to retire from international duties. The President of Argentina pleaded with Messi, and when he returned and stayed a few more years, Lionel Messi won the Copa America with his country.
Last season, Messi assisted Kylian Mbappe to score a lot of goals. That has made a lot of PSG fans stop criticizing the French international after rumors flooded out that he is going to Real Madrid.
Messi has been creative for the team, with more than 13 assists to his name last season. He bailed the team out of poor performances and will surely excel this season with a new manager at the club.
Next season, Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe will cause havoc for a lot of teams because they are some of the most dangerous attackers in Europe.
