Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he “never sought to leave” the French club despite viral reports that he is on the verge of terminating his contract.

In May 2022, the club and the 23-year-old France international agreed to a new three-year contract.

The World Cup champion Kylian Mbappe has previously been strongly linked with a transfer to Real Madrid. The star player from France, however, ruled out moving to the summertime capital of Spain.

Before Tuesday’s Champions League match between PSG and Benfica, there were rumours that Kylian Mbappe wanted to leave the team.

In the same vein, several sources reported that the star of Paris Saint-Germain is thinking about leaving Ligue 1 in January because he felt betray at the French side.

Mbappe’s comments appear to put an end to the immediate speculations about his place in Paris as he gets ready to join the France team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Despite signing a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer that will keep him with the club until 2025, news claims that Kylian Mbappe is dissatisfied with life at PSG. That caused him to once again become a hot topic in the transfer market for weeks.

After disputes with the board over several issues, including the club’s inability to acquire a new center-forward in the summer, the forward allegedly wanted to call it quits in January.

More so, a report from L’Equipe suggests Mbappe intends to resolve his dispute by buying himself out of his contract because he believes the club is impossible to trust once more.

Reports in France claimed that PSG were willing to let him go but reportedly insisted that Mbappe could join any other club but not Real Madrid. However, PSG said recently that there was no plans to sell the French star.

Recently, Kylian Mbappe has denied claims that he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.

Although PSG president Christophe Galtier and sporting director Luis Campos have subsequently refuted the allegations, Kylian Mbappe’s camp had indicated that their star player wanted to depart.

The former AS Monaco attacker has now spoken out about the matter and vehemently denied having any intention of securing a transfer away from the Parc des Princes shortly.

Mbappe in action for PSG

Kylian Mbappe explains to RMC Sport, as cited by Fabrizio Romano: “In January, I have not wished to leave Paris Saint-Germain. It’s not true that I’m angry with the club.”

Kylian Mbappe, who has 12 goals in 14 games this season, assisted Neymar on his game-winning goal against Marseille, and he is anticipated to play against Ajaccio on Friday in Ligue 1.

With a three-point lead over Lorient in Ligue 1, PSG is presently in the first place. They need just two points from their final two group games to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

While Kylian Mbappe has been doing well for the Ligue 1 leader in the UEFA Champions League this season, where he played four games and scored four goals, he is also doing well in Ligue 1 where he has played ten matches for PSG this season and has scored eight goals with one assist.
