Kylian Mbappe still rates Cristiano Ronaldo above Lionel Messi in the greatest player of all time debate ahead of the 2022 World Cup Final in Qatar, in which France will play Argentina.

The revelation came from Mbappe’s former teammate, Abdou Diallo, who played for Paris Saint-Germain. He claimed Mbappe can debate for an hour with any of his teammates about Ronaldo being better than Messi.

“If you mention Lionel Messi against Cristiano, Mbappe will debate with you for at least an hour. For him, Cristiano is untouchable.”

Mbappe has always had Ronaldo pictures in his room since he was young. Ronaldo is Mbappe’s idol, and after Portugal lost to Morocco, Mbappe took to his social media page to declare Ronaldo the greatest player of all time.

Mbappe is looking forward to winning the World Cup for the second time in his career after winning it in 2018. The French star already has five goals in six matches for his national team.

The Argentina players will surely struggle against him due to his pace and energy to move the ball around.

Messi and Ronaldo are currently the greatest players in the present generation. Both players have won a combined total of 71 major trophies and have scored more than 700 goals in their careers.

These two players have shared a total of 12 Ballons d’Or. Although Messi is on top of the world, Ronaldo is looking for a new club, with no elite suitors currently at his door.

Messi has scored five goals and made three assists in the World Cup. He is likely to win the Golden Boot for the highest goal scorer and the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament.

Ronaldo scored just one goal in the tournament and was put on the bench in most of Portugal’s group stage matches.

Ronaldo is 37 years old, while Messi is 35. Many had blamed old age on Ronaldo’s drop in form, saying Ronaldo was at the age of Messi, who was on top of his game.

Some are feeling that if Messi wins the World Cup when Argentina faces France on December 18, 2022, he would be rated above Ronaldo in the comparison because it remains the only trophy both players haven’t touched in their careers.
