Kevin De Bruyne Says He is Open to Saudi Move

The Premier League could be missing one of their legendary playmakers of all time soon as

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed he could be leaving for the oil-rich state soon based on the latter’s recent posturing.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Kevin De Bruyne confirmed he could be tempted to leave the Premier League for Saudi Arabia as he nears the twilights of his career.

“Saudi? At my age you have to be open to everything”.

“You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in the last stage of my career, you have to think about that”.

“For my wife, an exotic adventure is okay. I have to think about my future.”

“If I play in Saudi for two years, I’ll be able to earn an incredible amount…”.

“Before that, I had to play football for 15 years and I may not even reach that amount yet”.

“You have to think about what that could mean next”, he said.

Since recovering from a hamstring issue, Kevin De Bruyne has been a shadow of his former self. Despite City’s brilliant domestic finish in the just-concluded campaign, De Bruyne seems to have mildly lost the spark. He made 18 Premier League appearances for City, scoring 4 goals with 10 assists, including 2 goals and one assist in the Champions League final.

In the 2024 FA Cup final against City rivals Manchester United, the Belgian playmaker cut a frustrated figure after being subbed off in the second half.

It was the third time in the campaign that he has failed to live up to the bidding in a game and had to be whisked off by Pep Guardiola.

While the Belgian has slightly fallen off his five-star rating, he retained flashes of brilliance and was phenomenal as City fought late to overtake Arsenal to win their fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Kevin De Bruyne is 32 years old. He has a year left on his Manchester City contract. With no new deal on ground, the Belgian may be the next big European transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
