Karim Benzema is Real Madrid’s second-highest scorer in history with 354 goals in 647 appearances.

The Frenchman is behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, who made a switch to Al Nassr in January from Manchester United.

Benzema has the full support of his manager Carlo Ancelotti for the 2023 Ballon d’Or after scoring 18 goals in only 23 league games with one La Liga match left to play.

Anyway, his goals contribution couldn’t lead Real Madrid to a back-to-back Spanish top-flight league triumph with Barcelona already scooping the 2022/23 crown.

Los Blancos also couldn’t defend their 2021/22 Champions League triumph as they were annihilated out of the competition by Manchester City.

Karim Benzema is set to miss the last league encounter of the campaign when Real Madrid trade tackles with Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Reports have linked the White Angels with a possible acquisition of Espanyol’s Joselu Mayo during the summer to offer back-up for Karim Benzema.
