Juventus have signed Aston Villa women forward Alisha Lehmann over 48 hours after also signing his boyfriend, Douglas Luiz from the same club.
Lehmann, 25, who plays for Switzerland’s senior women’s national team, has reportedly agreed a three-year contract with the club.
The prolific women’s footballer, who scored 14 goals in 74 appearances in her three seasons with Aston Villa, will hope to open another big chapter in her career following the move to Juventus Women.
“I’m overjoyed,” she said. “Juve has a great history – so much so that I have to be honest: I was a bit nervous when I got out of my car for my medical check-up and saw so many fans. But everything is great.”
While the 25-year-old’s switch to Italy will mark a new beginning in her career, the most striking aspect of the deal has been her reunion with her boyfriend, Douglas Luiz.
We reported earlier Juventus had completed a deal for Luiz, signing him on a deal worth £30m from Aston Villa men’s team.
The former Manchester City midfielder signed a five-year contract with the club, leaving Aston Villa after five years.
Now, following Alisha Lehmann’s switch to Italy and more so, the same club as Luiz, speculations have been rife about whether Luiz must have had a hand in the Swiss blondes’ move to Italy. While the facts of the coincidental transfer have yet to be ascertained, Lehman was already giddy about linking up with Luiz in the same club again in Italy as they did in England.
Speaking during his unveiling, she said;
“For Douglas and me to be together in the same club is a dream.”
She added, “We have often played in different cities, so being able to have these great adventures in the same place is something wonderful.”

Douglas Luiz and Alisha reportedly met when their separate football careers crossed paths in England. They reportedly hooked up together in England, two years after Luiz joined Aston Villa from Manchester City. Then, Lehmann was playing for West Ham United women in the Women’s Super League and had joined the club newly from Swiss side BSC YB Frauen.
Just a year into the relationship, they broke up in 2022. We detailed the incident that led to the split in our earlier report which you can read HERE. Meanwhile, after the temporary setback, they rekindled the flames of love and found their way back to each other. Since then, the relationship has waxed stronger.
The pair have been sharing loved-up moments to confirm they have amended the broken fences and found love again. While they have yet to tie the knot, the transfer is more likely to cement the bond of friendship and further strengthen the relationship.

She began her professional football career in 2016, playing for BSC YB Frauen, and made 52 League appearances, scoring 25 goals. After her spell with Frauen, she joined West Ham United in 2018 and made 42 league appearances for the club with 9 goals before moving to Aston Villa in 2021. She has won 53 caps with Switzerland’s senior women’s national team, scoring 9 goals.
