Juventus maintains push for Scudetto after 2-0 win over Bologna

    After failing to score a single goal in their last two games since the restart of football action, Juventus has secured maximum points against Bologna to be in a good position for the Serie A title fight.

    Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Juve from the penalty spot after Stefano Denswil fouled Matthijs de Ligt. The Portuguese superstar has now bettered his last season’s tally in the division with his 22 Serie A goals. Ronaldo scored 21 in the entirety of last season

    Juve is planning to win the 9th straight Scudetto as they are four points clear of Lazio, who visit Atalanta on Wednesday.

    Paulo Dybala doubled the team’s lead with a shot second from Federico Bernardeschi’s backheel.

    The visitors, however, lost their right-back, Danilo, after a red card, and Bologna failed to take a numerical advantage.

    Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri has insisted that ‘criticism was excessive’ of Juventus, Federico Bernardeschi and Matthijs de Ligt.

    Juventus sharper in the 2-0 win over Bologna

    The gaffer who said he was pleased with the response against Bologna said there were sharper than the two previous games played.

    Speaking with Sky Sport Italia, the Italian tactician noted that the team kept up the tempo and intensity for 70 minutes, unlike in the Coppa Italia that they were able to just control for  20-30 minutes.
