Serie A club, Juventus, have annouced plans to take a summer tour of the United States as they prepare for the 2023/24 season.
The club confirm via it’s social media handle the first team will depart Italy at the end of the season for the tour.
A number of friendly matches will be played as the team warm up for the 2023/24 season.
The tour which is tagged the ‘Soccer Champions Tour 2023’, will see the Old Ladies jostle through three friendly matches in one week and 4 days.
The matches will be played in some selected cities in the United States against other European giants.
The state of Florida and California have been earmarked to host the friendlies.
The teams that have been slated to join the Serie A side in the friendlies are Laliga giants and 2022/23 title hopefuls, Barcelona.
Another Laliga and European heavyweight, Real Madrid, have also been scheduled to face the Old Ladies in one of the friendlies.
Italian side, AC Milan are also lined up for a friendly during the tour.
The match against Barcelona is scheduled to take place at the Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, the home of NFL franchise the 49ers on July 22nd.
Five days after the exhibition match against Barcelona, the Old Ladies will line up against AC Milan on July 27 at the Dignity Health Stadium, the home ground of MLS side LA Galaxy.
After the game against AC Milan, they will take on Real Madrid in their final game to wrap up the tour. The Real Madrid clash will take place on August 2 at the Camping World Stadium and it will be the last game in the tour before they return to Italy for the last phase of preparations before the 2023/24 Serie A season kicks off on August 20.
Juventus have had a tumultuous 2022/23 Serie A campaign and will be hoping to return to the Serie A title race when next season begins.
They were docked 15 points following allegations of financial irregularities. The point deduction saw the club slip to mid-table on the Serie A table.
However, after a successful appeal against the point deduction, the points were returned to the team and they are currently second on the table with 66 points from 34 games.
Napoli have emerged 2022/23 Serie A winners hence the Old Ladies are not vying for the title this term but for a Champions League slot.
With four matches left to the end of the season, the top-four race is still strongly contested by Atalanta, 58 points, Roma, 58 points, Inter Milan, 63 points, AC Milan, 61 points, and Lazio, 65 points.
Nevertheless, the Old Ladies are leading the race for a top-four finish and are optimistic of returning to Champions League football next.
They are also in the semifinals of the Europa League. After drawimg the first leg in Turin, they can also secure a spot in Champions League if they edge out record winners Sevilla and win the final against Roma or Bayer Leverkusen.
