The manager of Liverpool football club, Jurgen Klopp is the best Premier League manager for the 2021-2022 season. He also won the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for the League Managers Association (LMA) manager of the year.

Jurgen Klopp won the Barclays Premier League manager of the season ahead of his fierce rival, Pep Guardiola who led Manchester City to clinch the Premier League title for the second successive time.

Recall that coach Jurgen Klopp led Liverpool to battle for the league title until the last day of the league campaign. Unfortunately, despite beating Wolves 3-1 in their last game of the season, Manchester City scored three goals in five minutes to win the league title with just a point difference.

Before then, Klopp had led Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) and the FA Cup after defeating Chelsea in the two finals via penalty shootout.

On May 28, 2022, the German tactician is expected to lead Liverpool to Paris to play in the final of the UEFA Champions League. The final which will kick off at 20:00 is against Real Madrid, a Spanish team that knocked out Paris Saint Germain in the round of 16, knocked out Chelsea in the quarter-final stage, and also knocked out Manchester City in the semi-final stage.

The same Spanish club had defeated Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the final of the competition in 2018 which means that the 2022 edition of the tournament is an opportunity for the German coach and his boys to revenge.

    Coach Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool.

After he was named the Premier League manager of the season on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, Jurgen Klopp said: “It is a great honor and it was an insane season. The last matchday when only two games were meaningless and, in the rest, we all played for absolutely everything.

“It was a bit nervy, it wasn’t the best outcome for us, but we are already over it. And when you win a prize like this you are either a genius, or you have the best coaching staff in the world – I am here with four of my coaching staff, and they know how much I appreciate them.”

When Klopp received the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy, an award given to the best manager of the season based on the votes of all the managers in England (lower division to the Premier League), the German tactician described it as the most important prize.

“This being voted for by my colleagues is the most important prize you can get”, he said.

“I don’t believe in individual prizes in football generally, it is a team sport and I would be nothing without these boys there. It is all about what we can do together and what we did together.”
