Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed how long he will tarry on his sabbatical as he prepares to leave Liverpool.

The 56-year-old announced in January 2024 that he will leave the club after his legendary nine-year stint.

“I will leave the club at the end of the season,” he confirmed in an interview with the club’s website.

Jurgen Klopp’s exit announcement came more of a shock to football fans. On why he decided to call it a quit at Merseyside, the German said he is running out of energy to continue.

“I am running out of energy. I have to be honest with myself. I know I can’t continue doing it forever,” he added.

There have been speculations on Jurgen Klopp’s next move after his Liverpool exit. While the former Borussia Dortmund manager has kept everyone in the dark about his sabbatical plans, he made it clear he will never manage a club in the Premier League in reverence for his history with Liverpool.

There are reports Klopp may return to football management again after leaving Liverpool but it is still unclear when he will return to the dugout.

In his last press conference as Liverpool manager, Klopp cleared the air on when he could possibly return to football management.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the Champions League winner gave no exact date but said it will be long.

“It will be a long break, for sure”.

“It might even be it”.

“My time in England is definitely over because I will not coach another team here. If I manage again, it will not be around the corner”.

While speculations are rife about Klopp’s managerial future, it is understood he may not return to football management again. However, nothing can be concluded about the Reds’ legendary boss as things stand.

Klopp will take charge of his final game as Liverpool manager against Wolves before bidding the club farewell. He will be replaced by Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, who will exit the reins at Feyenoord at the end of the season as well to move to Merseyside.
