Jurgen Klopp grumbled over the Premier League schedule of Liverpool in a presser on Friday, September 15, 2023, with the Reds slated to play at 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

The Anfield side had a torturous season last term, ending the season in 5th, one spot away from the last UEFA Champions League qualification places.

They have kicked off the 2023/24 season on a remarkable note, unbeaten after four matches, with 3 wins and 1 draw.

However, manager Klopp is not happy with the schedule of Liverpool for Matchday 5, as they once again play in a match-up scheduled for 12:30 PM.

Liverpool also have another game slated for 12:30 PM in October 2023

Jurgen Klopp’s side are winless in their last 6 matches that have been slated for 12:30 PM, losing 3 matches and drawing 3.

Their last defeat in a 12:30 PM fixture came at the Etihad last season, as they embarrassingly lost by 4-1 to Manchester City on April 1, 2023.

When questioned concerning Liverpool’s poor performances in 12:30 PM matches, Klopp said: “Are you serious with this question?”

Speaking further on the matter, he spoke about the lack of adequate recovery time for his players going into such games.

The German tactician said: “Is it something about the time or the lack of recovery in between.

“It’s not a problem if you have a normal week, we’ve always said that. The only problem is the lack of recovery time.”

Jurgen Klopp also added that if he does share his notion on the timing of matches for his side, many would feel he is being petulant.

He said: “We have four international breaks until March, and on two of them we have the 12.30 pm kick-off.

“If I say one word about it again the whole world goes “He’s starting to moan again”, but it’s a joke – we have players in South America that I haven’t seen yet and we play in 24 hours. It’s a joke.”

Klopp was appointed manager of Liverpool on October 8, 2015, and he has had a successful spell at Anfield.

Despite enduring patches of underwhelming seasons and matches, he has remained manager of the Merseyside-based club.

Jurgen Klopp has won 2 UEFA Champions League titles at Liverpool, 1 FIFA Club World Cup, and 1 Premier League, ending the club’s 30-year wait for the league title.

When next does Liverpool have a Premier League game scheduled for 12:30 PM?

Meanwhile, the Reds have also been scheduled to play against Everton on Saturday, October 21, 2023, by 12:30 PM in the upcoming Saturday after the international break in October 2023.

Liverpool visit Molineux on Saturday, September 16, 2023, to play against Gary O’Neil’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves are known to be a bogey team to superior Premier League oppositions, and they are expected to test Jurgen Klopp’s side resolve.

In the last 18 matches between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Reds have won 13, while Wolves have won only 4, the encounter has also ended in a draw on 1 occasion.

The two clubs met 4 times across all competitions last season, with Jurgen Klopp’s side winning on 2 occasions, drawing 1 and losing 1.

In their last league visit to the Molineux, they lost by 3-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers, courtesy of an own goal from Joel Matip, and goals from Craig Dawson and Ruben Neves.
