Julian Nagelsmann’s girlfriend, Lena Wurzenberger, has dropped a hint the German coach could be the next manager of Chelsea as the London club continue to hunt for a new manager.
It was reported that Lena put her career on hold due to the speculation surrounding the future of her boyfriend, Julian Nagelsmann, being linked to a move to Chelsea.
Julian Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern Munich and was replaced by former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who had not improved the performance of the German team.
Julian Nagelsmann had already held talks with Chelsea’s hierarchy last week, which reportedly had a positive outcome.
Julian Nagelsmann laid out his own goals and the kind of team he wants before he joined Chelsea.
The club is looking forward to communicating with other managers. Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino had also been linked with the Chelsea job.
Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique was spotted traveling to London to hold talks with Todd Boehly.
Chelsea are currently working with Frank Lampard as the caretaker manager till the end of the season, and there are no plans to take him on as a permanent manager after the season ends.
Frank Lampard was the fourth manager to pick up Chelsea this season under American owner Todd Boehly.
Chelsea had been extremely poor since the return of the former Chelsea star, Lampard.
They have played four matches and lost all of them. The former champions of Europe were knocked out by Real Madrid on a 4-0 aggregate.
Also, Chelsea are currently in 11th place on the Premier League table. It will be difficult for them to play in European competitions next season, which will be a detriment to their egos.
The dressing room is losing it as the owners of the club had visited the Blues dressing room twice.
Todd Boehly had been heavily criticized for spending big without achieving the same success achieved under Roman Abramovich.
Few Chelsea fans have already realized their season is over and there is a need to quickly bring in a new manager.
However, Chelsea captain Thiago Silva had laid out the reason for their decline in performance. He claimed it was because of the new structure and the introduction of new players into the squad, which hindered their progress.
The Brazilian stated that the fans do not have to blame the managers if the players are not ready to take full responsibility for their performances.
The players do not seem to be happy about the ongoing situation at the club.
However, if Chelsea get a proper manager next season, there may be competition for silverwares next season.
