Josef Martinez of Inter Miami has praised Sergio Busquets after the former FC Barcelona captain moved to the Major League Soccer Club.

Earlier this month, Inter Miami secured the acquisition of Sergio Busquets as a designated football player in a deal that will run through the summer of 2025.

The Spaniards decided to join the Major League Soccer outfit led by former Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino after the expiration of his contract with the La Liga club.

However, his move has caught several supporters’ attention linking up with former teammate Lionel Messi and current teammate Josef Martinez who feels fortunate to be able to share a locker room with the one-time FIFA World Cup winner at this stage of his career.

Speaking about playing alongside Sergio Busquets, Josef Martinez said; “I think he is a genius. I prefer Busquets to Messi. He is f***ing amazing”.

Josef Martinez, the Venezuela International striker made the declaration after the duo’s first game together with Inter Miami’s victory against Atlanta United.

Josef Martinez, Martino, and Busquets were all praised after they triumphed over Atlanta United, in which Lionel Messi scored twice and assisted on the team’s fourth goal.

After leaving Barcelona, midfielder Sergio Busquets has thrived in his new dream American life at Inter Miami, where he is yet to experience a loss.

The Miami debuts of both Busquets and Lionel Messi resulted in a 2-1 victory over Cruz Azul, and the Spaniard appears to be having a good time both on and off the field.

The brilliant midfielder recently moved to the United States to play for the Florida club with former Blaugrana colleagues Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba.

Having been a key member of the best-ever Spain national team that won the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship, and having won 32 titles with Barcelona, Busquets is an active acquisition for Inter Miami.

The 35-year-old Catalan-born player is widely considered the game’s top-holding midfielder. In December, after the World Cup in Qatar, he declared his retirement from international play.

He played with Barcelona for 15 seasons and made 721 appearances. He had 19 goals and 40 assists in that span.

Notably, in the 2013–14 season, Busquets was coached by Gerardo “Tata” Martino of Inter Miami CF, and the team won the Supercopa de Espana.

On the other hand, the Leagues Cup was previously only well-known in the countries of the teams that played in it (the United States, Mexico, and Canada) but Lionel Messi only needed two matches to make it a household name.

But the Argentinean’s entrance at Inter Miami has given a new depth to this competition, to the point where press outlets from around the world write on what Lionel Messi is doing.

Leo only needed 14 minutes to imprint his authority all over a competition that will be remembered forever because of his performance.

What’s next for Josef Martinez and Sergio Busquets?
