The manager of Roma, Jose Mourinho has admitted that he has an emotional connection with Newcastle United, the new money-spinning club in the world.

Since the Saudi Arabia-backed consortium paid £320 million to purchase Newcastle United, the club has been linked with a series of football managers.

Some of the coaches that have been linked with Newcastle United include the former coach of Chelsea Frank Lampard, former coach of Inter Milan, Antonio Conte, Rafa Benitez of Everton, Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City, and the current coach of Rome Jose Mourinho.

It is believed that the current coach of Newcastle United, Steve Bruce can not champion a new era at the club. The new owners of the club are said to be worth £320 billion which means that there is a lot of money to spend.

The fact that Newcastle United are linked with Jose Mourinho showed how ambitious the club has become. Recall that Mourinho became the coach of Chelsea in 2004 after a Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich bought the club.

Mourinho built the club to the extent that they became a force to be reckoned with. To date, Chelsea remain an unstoppable force in the Premier League and Europe.

When Jose Mourinho was asked whether he might want to work at Newcastle United, he stressed that he is happy at Roma.

Mourinho said: “The only thing I can say is that for many years I’ve worked with one of the greatest names in #NUFC history, Sir Bobby Robson, since that time I’ve had a little bit of emotional relation with Newcastle City and it’s people, no more than that.

“I am here, I am really happy to be here. I am 100 percent focused on the Roma project, the Friedkin project.”

Jose Mourinho is not the first coach linked with a job at Newcastle United that has debunked his link with the club. The coach of Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers has also debunked his link with the club. He said: “I have got a contract until 2025, I absolutely love being here.”

Also, the coach of Everton, Rafa Benitez has declared that he is not interested in joining Newcastle. He insisted that he is happy at Everton.

“I’m wishing them all the best but this time when I decide to stay here I keep my word and I continue working here”, he said.

Even the coach of Rangers, Steven Gerrard is also linked with Newcastle but he has insisted that he is focused on his job at Rangers.

“I don’t react or get involved in any kind of speculation”, he said. “Especially when there is someone who I have the utmost respect for sitting in that job that the speculation is about. For me, I am in a very big job here that I am fully focused on.”
