Jorginho has taken to social media to express how disappointed he was after his error in Son Heung Min’s second goal which cost Arsenal all three points against city rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby.

The former Chelsea midfielder suffered a tough afternoon against Ange Postecoglou’s men after he was subbed on to replace injured Declan Rice in the first half.

Thomas Partey proceeded to regain from a groin injury and is not required to return until after the October international break, which means Arsenal are left with no option in the defensive midfield than to fall back to Jorginho and Mohammed Elneny.

However, Jorginho, the Italian defensive midfielder did not assure the Gunners’ supporters that he could fill in the gaps and put in the same level of performance as Rice following what he displayed at the Emirates Stadium.

What happened to Jorginho?

During Arsenal North London Derby game against Spurs, the host thought that they had secured all three points through Bukayo Saka’s penalty in the 54th minute of play.

But things quickly changed for Mikel Arteta’s side when Jorginho got himself in a mess on the halfway line and lost possession to James Maddison of Tottenham.

The former Leicester City midfielder took the ball wide into the opponent’s half and laid down a perfect pass to Son Heung-min who shot past the Arsenal goalkeeper with a fine finish and registered his 150th goal in Tottenham shirt.

Jorginho sends a heartfelt message to Arsenal fans.

After the match, the former Napoli player delivered a heartfelt reaction to the Gunners fans, appreciating them for their irresistible support which involved the home supporters vocalizing his name after Son made an equalizer for Tottenham.

Jorginho took to his social media handle and wrote; “A painful mistake today, but seeing how everyone reacted after it to support and lift me, my teammates, coaches, staff and the fans, it gives me even more motivation to work harder, because all of you deserve my best version. Thank you so much for the support Arsenal family”.

James Maddison takes a dig at Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal player copied his goal celebration during the Gunners draw against Tottenham.

The English player has hit back at his fellow International teammate following Sunday’s 2-2 draw between the two clubs.

Saka appeared to have mocked the former Leicester City player by performing his trademark goal celebration after the 22-year-old scored for Arsenal in the second half.

Maddison responded by providing two assists for Son who scored two goals against the Emirates Stadium outfit.

The 26-year-old was asked about Saka’s choice of celebration and he admitted there was some pre-match joke between the duo while they were on international duty earlier this month.

Speaking after the game, Maddison said, “Me and Bukayo had a bit of banter and a bit of trash-talking on international duty.

“I got told he did my celebration. He must have still been doing it after I turned him for the first (Spurs) goal”.

He added; “I’ll have a little word with him”.

Maddison has been one of the most crucial parts of Tottenham since he joined the London club in the summer transfer window and Ange Postecoglou didn’t hide his happiness towards the English player.
