Mendes has reportedly met with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and PSG to broker a deal for the 37-year-old footballer.

Jorge Mendes accompanied Ronaldo to the negotiation table when he returned to Carrington after Man United’s preseason tour. Jorge Mendes brought Ronaldo’s decision to take a pay cut to the media space. Ronaldo has opted to take a pay cut of up to 30% to join any club.

Manchester United have repeatedly emphasized that Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale despite his request to leave the club. After Erik Ten Hag assumed duties as new Man United manager, the future of the Portuguese was in doubt as Ten Hag planned an overhaul of the Man United team.

The Eredivise winner has axed some of Man United’s notable names such as Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, and others. Bent on implementing high-pressing and attacking Ajax-style football driven by youthful players, Ronaldo was not likely to make Erik Ten Hag’s team as he clocks 38 next year. However, Ten Hag made it clear that he intends to work with the Portuguese international in building a new Man United. The management of the club has also insisted that Ronaldo is not for sale after spending just a season with the club.

Mendes Asks Man United To Name Ronaldo Price

Despite Man United’s disapproval of Ronaldo’s plan to leave the club, fellow Portugal international and super agent Jorge Mendes has mounted intense pressure on the Red Devils to set a price tag for the player to facilitate his departure.

Ronaldo has been strongly linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, but the Spanish giants have dismissed the possibility of such a deal due to tentative financial constraints. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid fans have already staged an online protest against a deal with Ronaldo.

Ronaldo spent only a year with the Red Devils in his second spell with the club. He has scored 24 goals in all competitions, but a disappointing 2021-2022 Premier League campaign has made him press for an exit as Man United failed to make it to the Champions League.

It appears that one of the world’s most decorated players is trying to save his career as he approaches the twilight years. As it stands, only time will tell how good or bad the career of the football icon might end.
