Former Manchester United striker Jesse Lingard was unhappy with the premier league referee body, and he made a strong statement to let everyone know that VAR (Virtual Assistant Referee) is a joke.
Jesse now plays for West Ham United as a loaned player, he was part of the 11-man team that faced, Chelsea on Saturday, February 24, 2021. During the match, West Ham defender Fabian Balbuena cleared the ball and his foot landed on Chelsea player Ben Chilwell’s leg on a fallow through after Clearance. As you can see, it was a follow through kick and it can be seen as accidental. However, VAR gave West Ham Fabian a red card. Lingard took offence to this and posted this message on twitter.
West Ham finished the game with 10 men and they lost to Chelsea.
