Jadon Sancho Names Four Players to Contest For 2024 Ballon d’Or

Manchester United loanee to Borussia Dortmund Jadon Sancho has named four players as his favorite candidate to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

Sancho, who has belied his Manchester United misfortunes to star for Borussia Dortmund, will be called to action for the Bundesliga outfit as Borussia Dortmund prepare to take on Real Madrid in the 2023-24 Champions League final in Wembley.

Speaking ahead of the game, Jadon Sancho named two of his would-be opponents at Wembley among four players he believed are favorites to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

Leading his list is Bayern Munich sensation and England national team pal Harry Kane. According to the 23-year-old, Kane is qualified to be considered for the Ballon based on his goalscoring records. He however added the lack of trophies is a major drawback to the attacking sensation

Two Real Madrid stars made Sancho’s pick – Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham. The Man United loanee said the two players will certainly vy strongly for the coveted award.

The last player but not the least on Sancho’s list is soon-to-be Real Madrid player Kylian Mbappe. According to Sancho, Mbappe is a top-class striker who gives both assists and goals and, hence will make the top-ranking nominees for the award.

‘’Harry Kane due to the goals he has scored, I think if he did win trophies this year he would definitely have won the Ballon d’Or.

‘‘Vinicus and Jude are both fighting right now on who can win it – obviously, they are close friends I’m not saying they are fighting – but they could win it.

‘’Mbappe has had an excellent season, everyone knows he gives goals, and assists, he is a threat to any team in the world,” he said.

It is common knowledge Champions League triumph is usually a weighty metric that determines who wins the Ballon d’Or. Should Real Madrid saw off Borussia Dortmund to clinch the coveted club trophy, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr are likely to lead the race for the award.
