Man City star Jack Grealish dedicated his goal against Finland to his baby daughter Mila by sucking his thumb in celebration.
The Manchester City star shone bright as England put aside shock defeat against Greece to return stronger against Finland at Helsinki in the UEFA Nations League.
He scored and assisted as the team roared to a thumping 3-1 victory to return to winning ways after the Greece shocker.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold were also on target as the team roared to a deserved win.
Jack Grealish opened the scoring in the 18th minute. It was the Man City midfielder’s second goal in the competition and his first since he became a Dad.
Celebrating the goal, Grealish ran to the corner flag area while thrusting his thumb into his mouth to honour the new-born.
Jack Grealish’s lover Sasha Attwood gave birth to Mila Rose at the end of September 2024 but Grealish only announced the birth last week to the general public. When quizzed about the celebration at full-time on ITV Sport, the City star said: “Yeah [that celebration was] for my little daughter, bless her. I am so happy so that one is for her.”
To date, Grealish has not scored in the Premier League for Pep Guardiola’s side but he has racked up two assists. The England international has managed to become more integral to Guardiola this season compared to last when he ended up on the peripheries of the City team, so much so that he missed out on a place in England’s European Championship squad.
However, under new interim boss Lee Carsely, he may likely regain his spot in the team, thanks to the brilliant showing against Finland.
Notably, Grealish’s revived international career comes in a time he has transitioned from just aspiring lover and boyfriend to a father.
Just a few weeks after being blessed with the arrival of Mila Rose to cap his long-term relationship with Sasha Atwood, he is already integrating the milestone to his career as well.
Grealish, who is working on a lucrative contract at Premier League champions, Manchester City, has several sponsorship and endorsement deals in place. Attwood has also seen her stock soar. She has established herself as a powerful personal brand, independent of Jack’s football achievements.
