Former English player Gabby Agbonlahor has advised Jack Grealish to reject a move to Manchester United. The former Aston Villa striker believes Grealish should wait for Liverpool FC to show interest in the Villa Captain.
Over the past couple of months, the Villa skipper has been linked with a move to Manchester United. This comes after his excellent form in the Premier League this season. Rumors have circulated that Grealish has agreed to terms on a secret deal. The sources also claim Grealish has also reportedly gone house hunting in the Manchester area. If the deal goes through the England international could potentially be making more than the £100,000 per week he is currently on.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently in the market of building his midfield amid uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba’s future. Solskjaer who has tried everything in his power to convince Paul Pogba to stay has reportedly come to terms that this won’t happen and has his eyes fixed on Grealish to replace the France international in the summer.
Should Grealish join United, this would be good for United midfield being both Grealish and Bruno Fernandes bring something new and creative to the midfield. The United boss is keen on improving his midfield which has suffered in the last two seasons.
The former under-21 Republic of Ireland international has been exceptional this season and has scored seven goals and providing six assists in the Premier League. A few weeks ago, Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola called Grealish one of the best players in the Premier League with the midfielder managing to impress pretty much everyone with his form.
The attacking midfielder’s ex-teammate Agbonlahor believes Grealish would be better off waiting for Liverpool to show interest and he may be the missing piece to Klopp’s team.
“I am not just saying this as I have played with him, but I honestly think he is the best-attacking midfield option that England has got at this current time,” Agbonlahor said.
“That is why, when people say Grealish to Manchester United, he could do so much better than that, and he could walk into any team in the world, even Barcelona or Juventus. For where Manchester United are now, he could go to better teams around the world, so he doesn’t need to limit himself to just United and focus on teams who are playing in the Champions League” Agbonlahor added.
Liverpool FC is currently on top of the Premier League and is 38 points clear of Manchester United. The Reds will face West Ham United on Monday evening and hope to continue their unbeaten run.
