It’s gloomy times for Ignatius Ganago as the daughter of the Nantes forward Chloe sadly passed away at the age of five (5).
Nantes have established that the mourning forward will not be available for their UEFA Europa League clash against The Old lady Juventus on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Cameroonian international traveled back to his homeland after receiving information about his illness of his daughter.
And as published by French Newspaper outlet, L’Equipe, she kicked the bucket before his arrival.
Ignitius Ganago: Nantes FC confirmed the news
Ignatius Ganago’s club confirming the crushing news wrote in an heartfelt tribute: “FC Nantes is in mourning.
“It is with deep sadness that the Football Club of Nantes has learned of the death of our striker’s daughter, Ignatius Ganago.
“We think a lot of you Gana.
“The Club is with you through this terrible ordeal.”
The French side also changed their social media profile pictures to colour black as they continue commiserating with Ignatius Ganago on the passing away of his daughter.

Football clubs in the french footballing scene also sent out their heartfelt condolences to the Nantes forward.
RC Lens, who have a date with Nantes this weekend, tweeted: “Racing Club de Lens is in mourning. Touched in the heart by this tragedy, the whole of the RCL turns to Ignatius Ganago and his family in this terrible ordeal on this unthinkable morning.”
Also, Olympique Lyonnais posted their own condolence message: “We offer our condolences to Ignatius Ganago, and give him all our support in this ordeal, as well as to his family.”
The French Football Federation also paid their respects saying: “The FFF presents its deepest condolences to Ignatius Ganago and his family in this terrible ordeal.”
Their opponents on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League Juventus also responded by sending a prayer emoji.
The day for the encounter between Nantes and The Bianconeri’s is an important day in the life of the Cameroonian forward as it falls on his 24th birthday.
However, due to recent circumstances, the encounter will be more or less watery as a result of the death of Ganago’s daughter.
Ignatius Ganago plays for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and he has made eleven (11) appearances for the Senior National men’s team.
He was left out of Cameroon’s World Cup squad that participated at the Mundial in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ignitius Ganago’s dream
His dream is to feature in the FIFA World Cup but he didn’t make Rigobert Song’s 26-man list for the showpiece and he would have to look to the future for a possible chance of achieving that dream.
Ignatius Ganago had previously said: “I am a young footballer but honestly, it is my dream to make the World Cup. From my side, I will do everything possible not to give excuses to the coach for not calling me.”
He has played twenty eight (28) matches for Nantes this season, most recently featuring in Sunday’s one nill victory for The Canaries over Lorient.
