Tottenham Hotspur could lose their talisman, Harry Kane who stressed that he wants to win team trophies few days after the club lost the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.

Harry Kane has been playing for Tottenham Hotspur since he was a child. Since he gained promotion to the club’s senior team in 2011 and started enjoying first-team football in 2013, he has not been able to win a major title.

He has had the opportunity to play in a couple of finals including the Champions League, and most recently, the Carabao Cup, but has not been fortunate enough to win any of them.

Hence, he has been enjoying only personal honors. For instance, during the 2015-2016 Premier League season, he ended the season as the league’s top scorer with 29 goals. Also, in the 2016-2017 season, he ended the season as the top scorer in the league.

So far this season, Harry Kane has done so well for Tottenham Hotspur that he has scored 21 Premier League goals, provided 11 assists in 30 games. He has scored a total number of 31 goals and provided 16 assists in 44 games in all competitions.

Despite such stats, he would end the 2020-2021 season without a major club title. It is even looking so bad that the goals and assists might not be enough to qualify Tottenham for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Tottenham are currently sitting on the 7th spot on the league table with 53 points in 33 games, 5 points away from 4th placed Chelsea.

After winning the 2021 Premier League player of the year award at the London awards on Tuesday, April 27, Harry Kane stressed the need to start winning team trophies which could mean that if a more competitive club comes for his signature, he would jump on it.

The 27-year-old England international said: “When I look back at the end of my career, these are all the things I’ll go over and take in a little bit more, but the goal right now as a player is to win team trophies.

“As much as this is great, I want to be winning the biggest team prizes. We’re not quite doing that. It’s bittersweet, but it is what it is. I’m proud to win [Premier League Player of the Year], it’s been a good season on the pitch.”

Harry Kane won the Premier League Player of the Year award ahead of his team-mate at Tottenham Heung-Min Son, West Ham duo Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

The London awards are strictly for footballers who are playing for clubs around London, England.
