Harry Kane will have a one on one discussion with Tottenham Hotspur over his future in the coming week according to reports in British media.
The England and Tottenham Hotspur captain is reportedly ready to tell the London club that he is ready to join Manchester City this summer.
Recall that weeks before Harry Kane joined up with the Three Lions of England ahead of Euro 2020, the 28-year-old striker has told Tottenham that he wishes to leave the club this summer. Then, he could not determine his next destination.
He put his desire to move to another club aside and led England to the final of the European Championship which he and his teammates lost to Italy on July 11, 2021.
After the tournament, Harry Kane went on holiday like every other member of the national team but reportedly said he might not join Tottenham for preseason training to push for his request to leave the club this summer.
Before then, Manchester City made a £100 million bid for his services which Tottenham Hotspur rejected to prove that they are determined to keep the English star at the club.
But such a decision is against the desire of Kane who is determined to move to a club that play in the Champions League and are ambitious in terms of winning major titles.
Despite how prolific Harry Kane has been since he started playing senior team football on January 1, 2011, at Tottenham Hotspur, he has not won any major trophy, a jinx he is fighting so hard to break.
It has gotten so bad that he finished the 2020-2021 season as the league’s top scorer and highest assists provider but yet, Tottenham could not even qualify for Europa League. The club will be the biggest club in the new Europa Conference League which is the third tier of league football in Europe.
A player in the caliber of Harry Kane would not want to rub shoulders with players in a third-tier league and he is determined to join a team where he could dine with the biggest boys in the game.
The fact that Manchester City have shown how ambitious they are especially with their £100 million bid for Jack Grealish of Aston Villa, Kane is ready to do all he can to move to City.
Based on the caliber of players already at the club and the proven pedigree of City’s coach Pep Guardiola, Kane knows City will be unstoppable with him and Grealish in the squad in the coming 2021-2022 season. Hence, his long-awaited dream of winning major titles will certainly come to pass at Manchester City.
However, no matter the desire of Kane, Tottenham Hotspur still have the final say because the England international still have three years left on his contract with the club.
Never forget how much you mean to us, and how much this club means to you, @HKane. pic.twitter.com/tK9gJdWxv9
