Harry Kane has had his say on the difference between Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich, claiming that the pressure to win games is different for both clubs.
Kane joined the Bavarian giants from Spurs on August 12, 2023, for a fee of €100 million, and he has hit the ground running at the Allianz Arena.
Difference Between Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich
Speaking in a recent interview, Harry Kane narrated the disparity, revealing that at Tottenham Hotspur, going “a couple of games without winning wasn’t a disaster”.
The Englishman said: “We wanted to win at Spurs, but if you went a couple of games without winning it wasn’t a disaster. At Bayern you have to win every game.”
He has made 4 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist across all competitions.
The 30-year-old failed to win a major trophy at Spurs, despite reaching great individual heights.
Kane also revealed that despite Bayern Munich winning 3-1 and 4-0 in their first two games of the German Bundesliga season, there were talks concerning the way they played.
Harry Kane narrated: “After winning 3-1 and 4-0 in our first two games, there was talk about not being too happy about way we played! Top club mentality.”
Bayern Munich have the German Bundesliga in chokehold, having won the last 11 league titles.
Despite Borussia Dortmund’s ambitious 2022/23 season, they couldn’t hold on to wrestle the title away from Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Bayern Munich had an embarrassing start to the 2023/24 season losing 3-0 to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup final, with Harry Kane being introduced in the 63rd minute for Mathys Tel.
Kane scored his first goal for the German capital club on his league debut, in a 4-0 win against Weder Bremen.
He afterward scored a brace in his first game at the Allianz Arena, helping Thomas Tuchel’s side secure a 3-1 win over Augsburg.
Tottenham Hotspur faring well since Harry Kane’s exit
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur have fared well since the exit of the Englishman, despite it coming at short notice before the start of the Premier League season.
Ange Postecoglou’s side sit 2nd on the league table, with 10 points from 4 matches, and they remain unbeaten so far.
They have also picked up some outstanding victories this season, recording a 5-2 win over Burnley, and a 2-0 remarkable victory over Manchester United.
James Maddison, who was signed from Leicester City on July 1, 2023, for a fee of €46.3 million has been effective for the side in attack alongside Son Heung Min.
Son has scored 3 goals and provided no assist in 5 appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane is expected to be in action with England on Saturday, September 9, 2023, in a Euro 2024 qualification encounter.
The Three Lions of England sit top of Group C, with 12 points from 4 matches, and they remain unbeaten in the qualifiers.
