The manager of Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick, could not debunk the possibility of the German Bundesliga giants signing the Golden Boy winner Erling Haaland in the nearest future.

Erling Haaland has been one of the most sought-after footballers in the world due to his proficiency in terms of scoring goals for Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old Norwegian striker joined Dortmund on January 1, 2020, from RB Salzburg for €20 million.

In his few months at Borussia Dortmund last season, Erling Haaland scored 16 goals and provided 3 assists in 18 games. So far this season, the youngster who won the last edition of the Golden Boy Award has scored a whopping 29 goals and provided 8 assists in 28 games in all competitions.

Due to his outstanding form, the market value of the 20-year-old football star had skyrocketed to €110million according to the transfer market website.

Despite the high market value of the striker, he has continued to attract the interest of various top clubs across Europe including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, Erling Haaland led Borussia Dortmund to face Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. As expected, the fast-rising superstar gave a very good account of himself in less than 60 minutes of football before he was forced out of the game due to a minor injury.

Though Borussia Dortmund lost the match 4-2, the fact that the Norwegian striker scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the match could not stop pundits, football fans, and even coaches from talking about him.

The transfer speculation linking Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich was brought to the attention of Hansi Flick, the manager of Bayern, during the post-match press conference on Saturday, and the coach couldn’t rule out the possibility of having the striker at Bayern.

He however noted that the Norwegian striker is on the wanted list of many top clubs in Europe which could make the pursuit of the football star difficult for the German Bundesliga giants.

When asked about the possibility of Haaland being the future replacement of his club’s 32-year-old talisman Robert Lewandowski, Hansi Flick said: “A lot is possible in life and you can’t rule anything out. But it’s future music and he has a long-term contract in Dortmund.

“He is a player who is certainly a possibility for many top clubs, who are also thinking about him. That’s what makes him stand out, of course,” Flick added.

“As for the future, we all don’t know. Things can move very, very quickly in football. That’s why I’m not really worried about it.”
