Chelsea duo, Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku are currently enjoying the ongoing FIFA international break in New York City, United States of America.
They both stormed the Barclay Center where they watched an NBA basketball game involving Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. A picture of the two Premier League stars that surfaced on the internet showed that the football stars were given the front seats at the courtside.
Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku flew to the United States after helping Chelsea to knock out Middlesbrough in the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup on March 19, 2022.
Coincidentally, Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku scored the two goals that helped Chelsea to defeat the Championship side away from home.
Ziyech could not join up with Morocco for the FIFA international break due to conflict between him and the country’s coaching crew which forced him to step down from the team earlier than expected.
Also, Lukaku could not link up with Belgium national team because the country’s coach Roberto Martinez decided to drop players who have made over 50 appearances for the national team ahead of the country’s friendly games against Ireland and Burkina Faso.
Hence, Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku decided to use their free time to enjoy themselves outside Europe. Their first stop was at the Barclays Center. They watched as Barclay net defeated Utah Jazz 114-106.
Also, another Chelsea player, Trevoh Chalobah was spotted at another NBA game during the week. The 22-year-old English center-back was seen chilling at the courtside at Madison Square Garden.
Chalobah watched Atlanta Hawks beat New York Knicks earlier today, 23 March, 117-111 at the Madison Square Garden, the home ground of the Knicks.
Chalobah had no choice but to use the FIFA international break to enjoy himself since he has not been called up by England national team.
The 22-year-old defender has played for England from the under-16 level to the under-21 level but he is yet to play for the Three Lions of England.
