Hakim Ziyech agrees to join Chelsea on a 5 Year Deal

Chelsea has confirmed Hakim Ziyech will be moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer after the midfielder has agreed to terms of a five-year contract. The 26-year-old who currently plays for Ajax is expected to stay at the Johan Cruijff ArenA for the rest of the season. 

Earlier this month, Chelsea announced that a deal had been reached with Ajax for the Moroccan international signature. This is provided the player agrees to personal terms. 

On agreeing to those terms, Ziyech said: “I am delighted and proud to have signed for such a huge club as Chelsea. I am looking forward to next season and hope we can achieve great things together.”

Marina Granovskaia, the director over at Stamford Bridge added: ‘We are delighted Hakim will be joining us in the summer, having been a key target of the clubs in this last window. He has consistently been one of the most dangerous attacking players in Europe in recent years, which we saw first-hand in our two games against Ajax in the Champions League. We wish Hakim and Ajax all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.”

Ziyech is best known for his left-foot attack with width and delivery into the box. The attacking midfielder can also play comfortably off the right flank and coming inside, which he has done in recent years to help Ajax remain on top of the Eredivisie league. 

 Chelsea fans got a taste of the Netherlands-born quality this season. With the Blues match against Ajax at Stamford bridge, the attacking midfielder was directly involved in setting up three of Ajax’s four goals. The 26-year-old has proved his dangerous deliveries from the right flank are too hot to handle in which caused the Blues to admired the lad and sort after him. The Blues were also reportedly impressed with his unbelievable 30-yard goal against Valencia. 

Ziyech has scored nine goals in all competitions so far this season. So far, no player has been able to supply more than his four assists in this season’s Champions League.
