Granit Xhaka will become Bayer Leverkusen’s player following a contract agreement with Arsenal for a deal worth €25m.
Xhaka, who will turn 31 in September, had entered the final year of his contract with the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
A formal announcement is expected in the next 24 hours, however, sports journalist Fabrizio Romano already broke the news.
The renowned journalist took to his social media account to make the announcement, saying: “Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen, here we go!”
He also added that: “Agreement reached in May now being signed between clubs — green light arrived after Rice deal.”
“Arsenal will receive €25m fee for Xhaka. Understand Granit will sign until June 2028, five year deal.”
“Done. ✔️” the sports guru – who has made a name for himself for dropping solid transfer update concluded.
Meanwhile, Futballnews gathered that Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber will have their Arsenal medicals over the next 72 hours after deals were agreed with West Ham United and Ajax respectively.
This means that Arsenal’s spending in this window has gone beyond £200m, a proof that Mikel Arteta is backed by Edu and the board.
Granit Xhaka leaving the Emirates stadium might not have much effect as they have Declan Rice almost joining them at the club.
The Swiss midfielder has entered the final year of his contract with Arsenal, and it is undoubtedly the right time for the club to let him go.
