Under Pressured Chelsea manager Graham Potter held an emergency and crisis talk with four members of the Chelsea council after the club failed to defeat West London club Fulham in the Premier League.
The embattled manager spoke to leaders in the team, including Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Jorginho, and Mateo Kovacic, in a bid to return to winning ways and also save the season.
The manager described those players as excellent, and they are looking for everlasting solutions to enable them to start winning matches.
Chelsea players want to take responsibility, as they are in support of the manager.
The Chelsea squad has been affected by injuries to ten first-team players and a lack of belief. Graham Potter stated they are passing through difficulties, but he is adamant they can come over it.
However, Potter seems to be impressed with his players so far. He also claimed his job was safe with Chelsea Chairman Todd Boehly.
The former Brighton manager made an interesting claim that the Chelsea job is the hardest ever in his career. He had been the manager of Ostersund, Swansea, and Brighton.
The English manager claimed Chelsea have been used to winning matches. The manager also talked about the previous management and paid a lot of respect to them.
Potter stated that the club is in a new era and wanted the Chelsea fans to adapt to the ongoing incidents in the club, and he promised to make changes.
Chelsea is closer to the relegation zone than qualifying for the Champions League. The London side are ten points away from the Champions League spot.
However, there is a sense of backing from the board. The chairman continues to back the Chelsea manager with new players.
He got Joao Felix on loan and is currently negotiating to get Marcus Thuram before the end of the transfer window.
New signing Joao Felix, who was signed on loan from Atletico Madrid, was virtually the best attacker on the pitch with five shots on goal on his debut against Fulham.
But Felix’s debut was cut short by a nasty tackle on a Fulham player. He was given a straight red card, and it was expected that he would miss the next three matches.
How the Chelsea fans reacted to the loss against Fulham
Chelsea fans are divided on the issue of whether to support Graham Potter or not. During the match against Fulham at Craven Cottage, some of the Chelsea fans were singing Thomas Tuchel’s name.
After the match, some other Chelsea fans followed Potter to his bus, defending him and telling him to change the squad because all the players are nonsense.
Although everything is left to the Chelsea board to make the final decision on the manager, but they think he can deliver results for them.
