Barcelona legend Gerard Pique to suffer more humiliation following his bitter split with former partner Shakira after the Columbian singer’s friend, Karol G collaborated with her to release a duet.
The artist has previously sided with the ‘Hips don’t lie’ crooner following Shakira’s dismal split with Pique as Karol G was spotted in an NBA game wearing a shirt with the inscription “too big for you” indicating a clear reference to Shakira’s song with Bizarrap.
In an interview with the NY Times, Karol G has opened up on the actual reason the Columbian musician decided to break silence about her breakup with the retired Barcelona star.
Shakira is expected to release another hit single featuring Karol G targeted at her ex-husband Pique and his bizarre relationship with Clara Chia.
The 32-year-old Columbia songwriter Karol G said that her upcoming duet with Shakira “TGQ,” the Hips Don’t Lie crooner would let “a lot of anger go.”
Karol G explained that the duet was something she had been looking forward to for a very long time after they attempted to collaborate over the years all to no avail
Speaking about Shakira’s reaction when she heard about the new song she sent to her, Karol G said: “She was, like ‘Oh my God, thank you. Those lyrics are perfectly the way I feel right now.’”
Meanwhile, the song titled “TGQ” was supposed to have been released on February 2nd; Shakira and Pique’s birthday, but it was mysteriously delayed.
The 36-year-old former Barcelona star Pique and 46-year-old Shakira were together for nine years before their explosive break-up in June 2022.
The bitter break-up has continued to create headlines even seven months later, with the Columbian crooner releasing a single in which she took several shots at Pique.
After Shakira’s heartbreaking split from the football ace, the Columbian superstar slammed Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti in her viral track with Bizarrap.
The diss track titled “BZRP Music Sessions Vol 53” saw the 46-year-old Shakira rips her ex-husband Pique and his new partner Clara Chia.
The lyrics included: “I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio… A lot of gyms, but work your brain a little bit too.”
Shakira’s duet with Karol G is aimed at Pique and is expected to be released in the coming weeks after the retired football star did hit back at the mother of his children last month, signing Casio as a sponsor for Kings League and turning up into an event in a Twingo.
Meanwhile, Shakira recently took another shot at the Spaniard after she posted a video on social media as she lip-synced the lyrics “I might kill my ex.”
Shakira shared a clip of her singing along to SZA’s hit music Kill Bill on Valentine’s Day.
The 46-year-old ‘Hips don’t lie’ crooner can be seen mopping the floor as she mumbles the lyrics: “I might kill my ex, not the best idea.”
“His new girlfriend’s next, how’d I get here?”.
