Hakim Ziyech will not return to Chelsea, as he will remain at Galatasaray after the Turkish club acquired his signature permanently.

Based on reports from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Galatasaray have confirmed the agreement which will see Ziyech continue in Turkey when his loan spell culminates.

Galatasaray triggered the obligation to buy clause in their initial agreement with the Blues, and Hakim Ziyech will remain in Istanbul, where he has accentuated brilliance for most parts of the season.

Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax on July 1, 2020, for a fee of €40 million, and he failed to cut it at the London club.

He made 107 appearances for the Blues, scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions.

Following 3 years in London, Hakim Ziyech joined Galatasaray on loan in the summer of 2023.

The Moroccan has made 21 appearances for the Turkish club, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists across all competitions so far this season.

    Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray

Hakim Ziyech’s contract with Galatasaray was initially slated to expire on June 30, 2024, however, it appears his contributions to the Turkish club have given them no option but to secure his signature permanently.

Ziyech joined the Istanbul-based club on loan for a fee of £3 million, and seeing they have opted to make the move permanent, Galatasaray will reportedly have to part with an extra £2.5 million.

Galatasaray need to win 2 out of their last 3 matches this campaign to become champions of the 2023/24 Turkish Super Lig, as they sit 1st on the log with 96 points from 35 league matches.

Okan Buruk’s side are 6 points better than 2nd-placed Fenerbahce, who have amassed 90 points in 35 games this season.

Ziyech’s primary position is on the right wing, but he can also function as an attacking midfielder.

Hakim Ziyech has played for several clubs in his career, including; Ajax, FC Twente, SC Heerenveen, and Galatasaray.

The attacker has made 415 club career appearances, scoring 118 goals and providing 139 assists in all competitions.
