The Uzoho marriage has always been one that has drawn notice because of the circumstances surrounding it.

The young goalkeeper wed his longtime love, Sommie, in a traditional wedding ceremony in Imo state Owerri in December 2018 at the age of just 18.

Francis said in an interview that he prayed about his decision and spoke with some of his older family members, despite the fact that many Nigerians on social media believed he was too young to be married.

They all offered him suggestions and their approval. He added that his religious upbringing and that of his wife could force them to discontinue their relationship if they didn’t follow the law.

Francis further mentioned how his appearance did not reflect his age. He claimed that his rigorous training altered the way he looked because he had to work hard to build up his body in order to compete in the same position as guys like Gonzalo and Messi.

He continued by saying that he doesn’t blame those who think he appears older than his actual age because learning how to deal with it is a necessary aspect of the game and that, as a goalkeeper, he needed to grow as a person.

In January 2020, Francis and his wife Sommie welcomed their son. Francis posted pictures of his wife and son in the delivery room on his Instagram feed.

He congratulated his wife on her strength throughout the pregnancy and delivery, expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of his baby, and welcomed his son into the world.

How Francis Uzoho almost confirmed that he lied about his age

The football player posted a photo of a young 17-year-old boy on his Facebook profile in June 2020 with the caption: “Wow, my second son Michael is 17 today. I pray for God to bless him. Baby, your dad adores you.”

Francis’ critics and the Nigerian public were quickly drawn to the celebration since, at the time, he was 19 years old, and everyone was curious as to how a 19-year-old could be the father of a 17-year-old.

After receiving numerous comments from his followers, many of whom wished the young man a happy birthday, Francis quickly deleted the Instagram post.

Those who noticed that expressed shock and accused the goalkeeper of lying about his age.

The goalkeeper, nevertheless, said nothing to dispel the accusations, which seemed to confirm the widespread notion that he had lied about his age.
