Former Real Madrid player Isco is currently unemployed and is training alone at his home in his native country Spain.
Based on information from The Athletic, the Spaniard became a free agent in January after a disagreement with Sevilla’s director of football Monchi.
The attacking midfielder came close to signing for Union Berlin and he flew to Germany where his medical was successful but circumstances changed when the deal was about to be finalized.
Isco initially desired to pen a deal in the MLS but any interested club would have had to put him as a designated player in order to pay him an amount close to his wages in Europe.
However, he is currently unemployed and training at home with the assistance of a personal trainer.
Isco is presently 30 years old as he was born on the 21st of April, 1992.
Isco’s career has faced a downturn as the former Malaga man was the first signing of Carlo Ancelotti during his first stint at the club in 2013.
He became an instant hit at Real Madrid
The midfielder kicked into gear immediately and he went on to lift four UEFA Champions League titles, while his performances helped him gather lots of attention from other big clubs in Europe.
Italian giants Juventus, Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, Defending champions of the English Premier League Manchester City alongside Liverpool were interested in acquiring his services in the past.
Based on the number of clubs circling around him to get his signature, Real Madrid extended his deal with the club in 2017 and it included a release clause worth a staggering £619 million.
But Isco fell out of the good books of the club as the Spanish side didn’t utilize his service as his time at the club was winding down coupled with their change in plan of not playing through attacking midfielders.
It all began when Santiago Solari took charge of the side after the dismissal of Julien Lopetegui in 2018 and Solari fancied using young talents like Vinicius Jr and Federico Valverde ahead of big names like Isco.
Isco had a public disagreement with Santiago Solari who removed him from his future plans for Real Madrid afterwards.
The situation didn’t get better under Zinedine Zidane and it continued even when the current manager of the club Ancelotti took over.
Real Madrid attempted to remove his high wages off their wage bill as they pushed for a move for Isco to AC Milan in 2021 but he wasn’t forthcoming with the idea due to a reduction in his wages.
Monchi wasn’t welcoming of the idea to bring Isco to Seville
The circumstances resulted in him signing for Sevilla under the tutelage of Julian Lopetegui, who encouraged the team to sign him in spite of the disapproval from Sevilla’s director of football Monchi.
However, Julian Lopetegui was fired by Sevilla and he joined Wolves afterwards, while the man who took over from him at the Spanish club Jorge Sampaoli found Isco surplus to requirement.
And following his exit from Sevilla, Monchi said publicly that it had been “a mistake” to acquire Isco and “it would have been a further mistake to continue with the error” by not discontinuing their ties in January.
The former Real Madrid midfielder has received offers from teams in Saudi Arabia alongside Turkey and it looks like there are also clubs interested in his services in the La Liga.
Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez is his full names and he has scored 89 goals in 551 appearances for the teams he has played for.
