Chelsea are planning to add Tom Glick to its new-look leadership after the departures of three of the club’s top executives.

The former Manchester City chief commercial and operating officer Glick will join the senior board of directors at Stamford Bridge, which is owned by American investors Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

The projected hiring follows the departure of three of former owner Roman Abramovich’s closest advisors from the team: Marina Granovskaia, Bruce Buck, and Petr Cech.

The three former Chelsea executives all had significant contributions to make to the day-to-day operations of the west London club, and their departures have left a significant gap in those operations.

However, Glick will now assume a leading position in the club’s new executive structure as Boehly and Clearlake put their stamp on the Premier League team ahead of next week’s pre-season tour of the USA.

Glick and his team of administrators have extensive experience working in English football and will surely be bringing that to Chelsea. He served as chief executive of Derby County for four years before leaving for the reigning Premier League champions in 2012.

While the club makes the required appointments to replace Granovskaia, Buck, and Cech, Boehly has appointed himself chairman and acting sporting director. Former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and Monaco’s Paul Mitchell are understood to be among the top targets for the vacant Stamford Bridge job but no agreement has been reached yet.

The American tycoon is currently handling transfers for Man City striker Raheem Sterling and Leeds winger Raphinha during his first transfer window in charge at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea is yet to sign any of their transfer targets but will likely get one done by next week.

The deal with Raphinha is almost at the final stage as Chelsea and Barcelona wait for a response from the player about his next destination.

Multiple sources have revealed that the deal with Man City’s Raheem Sterling is set to be finalized soon and they are also interested in his teammates – Nathan Ake and Zinchenko.

Todd Boehly has also informed Italian Serie A giants Juventus that Chelsea are ready to include Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner in a deal to sign defender Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutchman has only one year left in his current contract but Juventus are reluctant to let him go this summer.

Other players on Chelsea’s summer transfer list are Neymar Jr from Paris Saint-Germain, Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, and Antony from Ajax and they look to get some of these players before the start of pre-season this month.
